Thrikkakara Appan is a sacred Clay or Wooden Idol kept amidst Pookalam (Flower Carpet). It represents Lord Vamana, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and is a key part of Onam Celebrations in Kerala. It is placed in Homes during Onam Pooja as a symbol of Prosperity, Righteousness, and Divine Blessings. Traditional Mythology: Lord Vamana is the dwarf Brahmin who blessed King Mahabali and sent him to the underworld while granting him the boon of visiting his people once a year (Onam).The idol is also called Onathappan and is worshipped during Onam.
