Kunthirikam or Frankincense-The Aromatic Resin of Kerala. It has significant Cultural and Spiritual Value, commonly used in Religious Rituals, Temples, and Homes for its soothing Fragrance and Spiritual Significance.Frankincense is harvested by making incisions in the Bark of the Boswellia Tree, allowing the Resin to ooze out and harden into teardrop-shaped pieces. These Resinous Droplets are then collected and used for various Purposes, including Incense Production. Even though it is most commonly associated with regions in Africa and the Middle East, it is also cultivated in certain Forested Areas of Kerala, making it an important part of the state's Spiritual Practices. It is also used in Aromatherapy and as a Traditional Medicine.
